35 Select Soccer Announces 2026 Coaching & Administrative Staff

December 2025 – Southern Minnesota

35 Select Soccer is proud to announce its full coaching and administrative staff for the 2026 season. These appointments join Coaching & Executive Director Aaron Fenton in leading the club’s expanding competitive teams and player-development programs.

For the 2026 season , 35 Select Soccer will field four Select teams and offer additional training opportunities for players across Southern Minnesota , including the Junior Academy , Goalkeeper Academy , and Summer Camps .

Our staff brings deep experience, strong leadership, and a shared commitment to developing high-character, high-performing athletes.

Update on US Youth Soccer Age Group Changes

Important news for our soccer families! US Youth Soccer, AYSO, and US Club Soccer have announced that beginning in August, with the 2026–27 season, all youth programs will transition to a seasonal age group calendar running August 1–July 31.

This change brings player age groups back in line with school-grade classmates—similar to the pre-2016 system—making it easier for kids to play with their friends and creating a more inclusive, development-friendly environment. The decision follows extensive national feedback and data review.

What You Need to Know

No changes will occur for the 2025–26 Spring Summer season.
Players may continue to “play up” if appropriate for their development.

Be advised that US Youth Soccer will return to an age group formation based on August 1–July 31, rather than January 1–December 31, beginning with the 2026–27 registration season.

Get ready for an action-packed 2026 season with 35 Select Soccer! We're excited to offer our talented soccer athletes great opportunities to shine both on and off the field.

35 Select to Field Four Dynamic Teams

This season, 35 Select Soccer will field four competitive teams focused on fostering growth, development, and a love for the game, preparing players for premier-level competition. Here’s our 2026 Teams:

Girls Teams :
17U (2009 & 2010 birth years)
15U (2011 & 2012 birth years)
Boys Teams :
16U (2010 & 2011 birth years)
14U (2012 & 2013 birth years)

Training and Competition Schedule

Our select level showcase teams will kick off training in late November or early December 2025, primarily at Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Faribault, with additional locations possible. Our intensive curriculum is designed to elevate players’ skills and prepare them for high-level competition. Here’s what’s planned:

Winter Games : From January to March 2026, our teams will face top clubs in full 11v11 matches, offering year-round opportunities to grow as players.
National Showcase : Over Presidents’ Day weekend in February 2026, all teams will compete in a prestigious national-level showcase (location TBD), introducing players to college soccer recruitment and boosting their visibility.
Regional Tournament : In early April 2026, teams will take on elite competition at a top-tier regional tournament, further enhancing college recruitment exposure.
Local Tournaments : As we transition to outdoor play, training will shift to natural fields at Webster FC and Northfields Spring Creek Complex. Teams will compete in Minnesota-based tournaments, keeping competition close to home while some players may also participate with their local clubs.
